January 26: Free Walk & Talk - Gumbi Gumbi Gardens at University of Southern Queensland, Toowoomba.
This is an informative and moving experience with scientific and cultural aspects, hosted by our own bushtucker planting consultant from Flora 4 Fauna (register on their Facebook Page) It is designed "to increase the understanding and awareness of using, propagating and conserving our highly prized and valuable native Australian plants."
Flora 4 Fauna - Australia will be hosting the Free Walk & Talk through the Gumbi Gumbi Gardens in Toowoomba, QLD on Thursday the 26th of January 2023, starting at 09:00am and finishing at approx.11:00am. Just in time for lunch at the nearby Southern Hotel a block away and putting you back on the New England Highway for your trip home. With tasty well priced food, 4 dining areas and no public holiday surcharge it's a winner.
January 26: Australia Day at Highfields Pioneer Village
Plenty to see, eat and learn about at this historic recreation and new home of "The Big Cow"
The program includes: Milking the cow, Beekeeping, Blacksmithing, Working draught horse and Whip Cracking School. Wonderful machinery collections include farm machinery, fire engines children are welcome to sit in and synonymous with Toowoomba, a very interesting Southern Cross windmill display. There will be plenty of good Aussie tucker, meat pies, vegemite sandwiches and Billy Tea and Damper. Maybe a cappuccino at the Bushranger Cafe if that's more your style?
Guest Artists performing, an Aboriginal Art display, Family Games and children will love the Baby Animals in the Nursery. This event attracts a huge crowd from South East Queensland and is so well priced it's virtually free!
February 5 - 25: Harvest Festival at Rosalie House
February is so close and so are the wonderful experiences of Harvest Festival at Rosalie House Cellar Door and Restaurant just across the valley. From wine-tasting events and a Charity Grape Stomp to decadent feasts and the Grape Harvest, there's an event for everyone.
